It’s time again, I’m supposed to have my taxes sorted out before the first of april. Since Danielle and I both changed employer last year, and we changed stuff in the morgage there I had to go through tons of paper.
Normally I didn’t like the idea of doing taxes since it meant switching to windows or the ibook instead of my trusted ubuntu machine. But this year proved to be different! The ‘belastingdienst’ (dutch tax collector) actually offers a linux version of their software! I downloaded the tarball and started the application… and it worked…. not pretty… but functional:
Nice to see this happening, people are starting to take linux on the desktop seriously!
So they even made it “leuker”!
Yes, they actually managed….. and they even managed to deposit the money the owned me within 2 months!
